Like millions of girls out there, I was extremely excited when the Kardashians launched their new makeup line. The Karadshian sisters are known for their flawless makeup and beautiful appearances, so needless to say, I felt their makeup line would provide access to re-creating some of their most notoriouse looks (at an affordable price !! Amen!) The girls have obviously been around a lot of makeup in their day always looking "Gorge" as they would say, and working with makeup artists like Mario Dedivanovic, Joyce Bonelli, and many other talented artists. All in all I felt as though the tips & tricks, and exposure to quality products would transcend within their makeup collection.
I went to Ulta Beauty to purchase the Ah Natural Nude Lip Kit, which is a 3-step kit (dual ended liner/lipstick, and gloss included) that promises to give Kim's signature calibrated nude lip. So let me give you the break down:
Quality: The quality is great! Each tube gives a decent amount of product and the gloss comes with a very long wand making it easy to get to every last drop of product out! The liner/lipstick is double ended and I cant complain ...you get what you pay for.
[From the Top Down: Lipgloss, Lip Liner, Lip Stick]
Look closely, as they are almost the same shade as my skin tone
2. Pros: The product is true to color and is not deceiving based on the color displayed through its packaging. The product is very pigmented and the liner definitely does not budge, meaning it can wear all day without having to reapply. Definite plus!
3. Cons: Womp womp womp! I am very sad to say that the Kardashian kit does have it's downfalls. Now let me start off by saying that being the bronzed beauty that I am, I was disappointed that the kit was not more of a 'universal' nude because it is on the lighter side, especially for us dark skinned beauties. Moving on, the gloss has a horrible scent ! The scent is similar to some of the E.L.F products particularly their 2 in 1 lip gloss. If I had to say, I would compared the scent to that of chemicals. Also, the liner crumbles and you cannot press down hard with it, or the product will ruin. All of the products within the kit are CREAM based, so even the gloss is not 'glossy' as you would imagine but more of a cream shine, therefore you risk looking pale in the lips if the products is
applied too heavy.
Let me know what your best critique is !! Mwah & Happy Holidays !!
